SpongeBob SquarePants: Search for SquarePants has announced that Mark Hamill has joined the cast as the voice of The Flying Dutchman at SDCC 2024.


Sponge Bob SquarePants isn’t slowing down anytime soon – 14 seasons, over 300 episodes and a fourth movie in the works, with SquarePants Search scheduled for release on December 19, 2025. Joining the cast will be Mark Hamill as the voice of the Flying Dutchman, named after the legendary maritime ghost ship, but in pirate form. Star Wars And The Fall of the House of Usher The star appeared at San Diego Comic-Con during the franchise panel on July 25 in Hall H of the convention.

Mark Hamill Makes a Splash as He Casts in SpongeBob SquarePants: Search for SquarePants

SquarePants Search suit 2021 The Runaway Spongewhich was written and directed by Tim Hill for the Nickelodeon and Paramount franchise. Hamill, who has carved out a niche for himself as a voice-over artist in addition to what he has built on top of his live-action career framed by his iconic role as Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise, has joined the voice actors Tom Kenny (Spongebob), Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy), Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs) and Mr. Lawrence (Plankton) on stage to participate in the live reading of the Spongebob pilot episode “Help Wanted”.

“It’s the scariest, dumbest pirate you’ve ever seen. The movie is more cerebral. It’s more thoughtful, intellectually stimulating,” Hamill told the crowd. “No, I’m just pulling your chain. It’s inspired silliness from start to finish.” The panel was moderated by Good Burger star Kel Mitchellwho appeared as Ed in the Nickelodeon franchise and also included the executive producers of the animated series Marc Ceccarelli And Vincent WallerThe panel also previewed the Netflix film spin-off Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Moviewhich will be released on August 2nd.
