Designer Kenneth Cole Escapes $22 Million Westchester County Mansion

Kenneth Cole He has built an empire of consumer footwear, clothing and accessories. His brand is valued at over $1 billion and his personal fortune is estimated at over $100 million.

The designer also owns a stunning home in Purchase, New York. Cole bought the property for $2.8 million in 1991, and it served as his family home for decades. Now, as he tells Bloomberg, with his kids grown, he’s ready to part ways with his beloved seven-bedroom abode.

Billed as “one of New York’s most prestigious estates,” it is available for $22 million.

The residence is situated on a 14-acre fenced plot. Offering spectacular views of the surrounding gardens, the three-level home includes three different office spaces.

Photos of the property show immaculate interiors in a soothing palette of brown and white. The entrance hall opens to a well-appointed living room, which provides access to a beautiful veranda overlooking the lush landscaping.

The verdant outdoor spaces include “acres of rolling lawns” and perennials in perpetual bloom. Beyond the flora, there’s a saltwater pool, tennis court, putting green and koi pond. A jogging trail wraps around the property.

The 12,000-square-foot home features a sprawling dining room that seats 80, multiple fireplaces and a third-floor game room.

The kitchen is well equipped to feed the large crowd with two La Cornue ranges, a huge wooden island with seating and plenty of cupboards.

The spacious master suite features dual walk-in closets, en-suite bathrooms and private balconies.

The home has an attached two-car garage, a golf cart garage, and a detached four-car garage with a carport.

An hour north of downtown Manhattan, the house is in Westchester County, near the Connecticut border. Fun fact: The house was the filming location for the 1969 movie “Goodbye, Columbus.”

Cole, 70, launched his eponymous fashion company in 1982. It went public in 1994 and grew to a valuation of nearly $1 billion. In 2012, the designer took the company private “to take a more entrepreneurial approach.”
