Harris on the defensive after incredible Trump press conference

Jason Millerthe former president’s senior advisor Donald Trumpclaimed that his boss had appointed him vice president Kamala Harris on the “defensive” after a long press conference held Thursday at Mar-a-Lago during which he proposed three debates between the two candidates next month.

On Thursday night, Harris had agreed to debate Trump on ABC News on September 10. Trump has also proposed a debate on Fox News on September 4 and a debate on NBC News on September 25.

A Harris campaign representative reportedly said after Trump’s challenge that the vice president would consider debating him further if he showed up on September 10 for a prearranged debate between Trump and the president. Joe Biden in June.

In Thursday’s edition of Jesse Watters in prime time on Fox News, the host Jesse Watters welcomed Miller on board to discuss Trump’s press conference and the prospect of three debates next month.

Watters played a clip of the session in which Harris is asked about the three proposed debates. She declined to comment on the Fox News and NBC debates, saying, “I’ve been there all along. I’m looking forward to debating Donald Trump and we have a date set for September 10th. I hear he’s finally committed to it and I’m looking forward to it.”

The Fox News host asked Miller, “It seems like she’s only committed to one project, what’s going on?” Miller responded:

President Trump has committed to three debates. On September 4th, we’re doing it with Fox, on September 10th, we’re doing it with ABC, and on September 25th, we’re doing it with NBC. What President Trump did today with this press conference is he put Kamala Harris on the defensive in the debates. Kamala Harris was saying, “Introduce yourself, say this is my face.” Well, guess what? You now have three chances to take us on.

Miller called Trump’s Florida press conference “the most incredible, most important campaign conference I have ever seen” before saying Harris was now “on the defensive.”

“By standing there for an hour, making Kamala Harris look like she wants to avoid the press, doesn’t want to participate in any debates, Kamala Harris now has to commit to going out and talking to the press and when Kamala Harris starts talking, bad things happen,” Miller added.

On Thursday night, Harris committed to a media interview — her first since becoming the Democratic nominee — which she said would take place by the end of August.
