Clay Aiken’s 15-year-old son makes TV debut alongside his father on ‘Family Feud’

It seems like many people only found out this week that gay people American Idol Former student Clay Aiken is the father of a teenage son.

Clay was the guest of Celebrity Family Feud Tuesday evening.

“This is my son Parker making his television debut,” Clay told host Steve Harvey.

Clay and his family were playing against music producer David Foster, 74, and his singer Katherine McPhee, 40. It turns out the families are related, in a somewhat complicated and mixed way.

Clay, 45, rose to fame through American Idol in 2003. He came in second. He continued to release music and worked with Foster. Then, in 2008, Clay revealed that he had become a father to a son, Parker. The boy’s mother is Clay’s best friend and Foster’s sister, Jaymes, now 66.

Clay came out a month after becoming a dad.

Clay explained to host Harvey why two Foster family members were split between teams, joking that Jaymes was “on the right team. She wanted to win tonight.”

It seems the news that Clay was a dad came as a surprise to some people.

Viewers not only appreciated Parker’s resemblance to his father, but also his intelligence and charm. He gave the show’s winning answer when asked, “Name a famous Tom a girl would love to go to prom with.”

Parker responded to Tom Holland.

Harvey expressed skepticism, but the answer proved to be a winner. Clay’s family donated his winnings to the National Inclusion Project.

Career and politics after Idol

Since his passage on IdolClay Aiken has had careers in music and television. He has also attempted to enter politics, running in the 2014 and 2022 elections in North Carolina. He won his Democratic primary in 2014, but lost the election to the Republican incumbent. He failed to win his primary in 2022.

A few weeks ago, Clay told E! News that his son Parker has music “in his blood” and sings frequently. However, he’s not interested in getting into the world of rock just yet. American Idol and has no burning desire to make music his career.

“He chose a different path. He wants to do something different with his life. And I’m very happy for him,” Clay said.
