Arrest in unsolved triple case in California in the 1970s after DNA match

Warren Luther Alexander, 73, was arrested in the murders of three women in Southern California decades ago.

A 73-year-old man has been charged in the 1977 strangulation murders of three Southern California women after cold case investigators obtained a DNA match. Authorities believe there may be additional victims.

Warren Luther Alexander of Diamondhead, Mississippi, made his initial court appearance Thursday, but his arraignment on three counts of first-degree murder was rescheduled for late August, the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office said. Alexander remained in jail without bail.
