Sadie Sink Forgot How Hard Filming ‘Stranger Things’ Was

Sadie Sink admits she never expected her “Stranger Things” character, Max, to become a breakout star.

The actress told Variety that after joining the hit Netflix series in Season 2 at the age of 14, she couldn’t have predicted the viral adoration for her role as Max in Season 4. The season-ending cliffhanger included Max being in a coma after confronting Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower).

“I didn’t really think people would care about her journey that much,” Sink said. Even when Max went viral with the “Running Up That Hill” clip, Sink was still shocked: “I was like, ‘This is cool.’”

The “A Sacrifice” actress added: “I think I’m definitely desensitized to a lot of things now, which is a good thing. I think it keeps you stable.”

As for her return for the beloved series’ fifth and final season, Sink admitted she “forgot how difficult” filming the Netflix series was.

“I worked all last week and I was like, ‘Oh my God, I forgot how tough this show is,’” Sink said. “We’re a team player here. It’s not about me. It’s not about anybody. It’s about the show and what’s best for the show.”

Sink recently told Entertainment Tonight that the actors “really want to enjoy every moment” of their collaboration. “We just want to enjoy the time we have together and deliver a season that everyone has been waiting for,” Sink said.

Alongside her co-stars Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Joe Keery, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, Joseph Quinn and more, Sink said earlier this year that she expected filming the final installment to be an “emotional” production.

“It’s going to be horrible. It’s going to be horrible,” Sink said on the “Today” show. “These kids, this whole cast and crew, they’re family. People say that all the time, but I mean it. And to say we have to say goodbye to that security and know we’re going to see each other again for another season?”

She added: “It’s scary and sad, but I think it’s exciting to move on to the next chapter, I guess.”
