Singaporean exposes fake scam involving motorcyclists who crash on SG-JB road using 360-degree camera

MALAYSIA: A group of motorcyclists attempted to scam a Singaporean who had just passed through the SG-JB road checkpoint by staging a fake accident.

Unbeknownst to them, their antics were filmed by a 360-degree camera mounted on the Singaporean’s motorbike.

In the 47-second clip, after passing through the checkpoint, the Singaporean can be seen passing a group of motorcyclists huddled at the side of the road, with one even pointing at him as he passed.

Moments later, one of the motorcyclists subtly hit him sideways on the right, causing his bike to wobble.

As he stopped, another motorcyclist approached him from his left, effectively cornering him. The two men then joined forces to falsely accuse him of causing the accident.

“A third biker suddenly cornered me,” he wrote in the caption. “They gathered around and accused me of hitting their bike.”

Determined not to be fooled, the Singaporean confronted the two bikers head-on. Their animated gestures revealed that a heated exchange had taken place.

At one point, the Singaporean visibly points his camera, making it clear that he has proof of their fraudulent scheme.

“I told them I had video evidence and they left me alone,” he said.

The Singaporean, known as soodabing on TikTok, shared the video on various social media platforms to warn others about the scam.

The video quickly went viral online, with many viewers expressing shock and concern at the audacity of the scammers.

Some have even suggested that Singaporeans hand over their car number plates to the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) so that they can be permanently banned from Singapore.

One viewer said: “To Singaporeans. Boycott visiting JB for leisure. Don’t spend your money there. There are better places and people who want to do business with you.”

Another expressed frustration, saying: “That’s why I always sign up by your name, because Woodlands has too many of those clowns in groups. Your camera saved you.”

A third netizen added: “Please tell me you filed a complaint against these two smelly, dirty scammers.”

The video has accumulated 459.1k views and 19.7k likes on TikTok, 569 upvotes on Reddit, and 577k plays and 2.2k likes on Facebook.
