Joe Biden admits he was forced out of 2024 primary race by leading Democrats
“What happened was a number of my Democratic colleagues in the House and Senate thought I was going to hurt them in races,” Biden said.

Joe Biden admitted in a Sunday interview that he was pressured to drop out of the 2024 race by prominent Democratic colleagues.

Since Biden abruptly dropped out of the race last month, Democrats and the media have argued that Biden selflessly left the race for the good of the nation.

But as Biden revealed, that was not the case at all.

“The polls that we had showed that the race was close, that it would have been very close. But what happened was a number of my Democratic colleagues in the House and Senate thought that I was going to hurt them in the election,” Biden told CBS Sunday Morning anchor Robert Costa.

NEW: President Joe Biden confirms he was pushed out of the race by leading Democrats who apparently staged a coup against him.

“And I was afraid that if I stayed in the race, that would be the topic… and I thought it would be a real distraction.”

The revelation isn’t all that surprising given that Biden resisted widespread calls from Democrats for weeks to step down after his disastrous performance in the June 27 debate, before finally dropping out a month later.

“I am the nominee of the Democratic Party,” Biden declared in early July.Nobody pushes me out. I’m not leaving. I’m in this race until the end, and we’re going to win because when Democrats unite, we always win.

Biden’s admission also comes after a report by journalist Seymour Hersh and other media outlets claimed that former President Barack Obama threatened Biden with the 25th Amendment, claiming he had “Kamala’s approval” to force him to drop out of the race.

Hersh said Obama was “deeply involved” in the coup and called out Biden after his health “incident” in Las Vegas on July 17.

“I reviewed the reports this week with a senior Washington official who helped paint a picture of a White House in disarray,” Hersh said. “Obama called Biden after breakfast (July 20) and said, ‘Here’s what’s happening. We have Kamala’s approval to invoke the 25th Amendment.’”

He added that former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries were also involved in the plot with Obama.

“This official, who has decades of experience in fundraising, told me that Barack Obama came across as the strongman throughout the negotiations. He had an agenda and he wanted to see it through to the end, and he wanted to have control over who got elected,” Hersh said.

Pelosi tacitly admitted to pressuring Biden to drop out of the race in an interview with the New Yorker.

“I really wanted him to make a decision for a better campaign, because they weren’t facing the reality of what was going on. Just some context. I was never really impressed with his political operation… I’m not. I just wasn’t. I mean, it just happened. They won the White House. Bravo.”

“So my concern was that it wasn’t going to happen, and we had to make a decision to make it happen, and the president had to make the decision to make it happen,” she added.

Former President Donald Trump has notably denounced the coup against Biden and defended the puppet president’s right to run and even suggested that Biden might try to fight for the DNC nomination later this month.

“The presidency was taken away from Biden — and I’m not a Biden fan,” Trump told reporters at Mar-a-Lago on Thursday. “Whether he won or not, he had every right to run. They said we can do it the right way or the hard way. What they did was incredible.”
