Usher Announces Last-Minute Cancellation of Atlanta Concert to ‘Rest and Heal’

Usher made the last-minute decision to cancel the first show of his Past Present Future tour just hours before he was scheduled to take the stage.

The 45-year-old singer-songwriter was scheduled to kick off the first of three nights in Atlanta, Georgia at State Farm Arena tonight, Wednesday, August 14.

However, this afternoon he announced on social media that he was postponing the show.

“Over my 30-year career, I have dedicated 100% of my blood, sweat and tears to putting on the best performance possible and creating a memorable experience for my fans. I intend to do the same on this tour. That is why I have to postpone tonight’s show and reschedule it for a later date to give my body a second to rest and heal,” Usher wrote.

“You will always have a little bit of the past, a little bit of the present and a unique look at the future on this new date, but you will also have 100% of me,” he promised. “The last thing I want to do is disappoint you, the fans who have been eagerly awaiting the start of this tour. However, I would not be the artist I am if I could not give you the best of myself physically.”

He concluded: “My team will share the new date with you soon. I look forward to celebrating this legacy with you.”

Just after his Super Bowl halftime performance in February, Usher revealed dates for his Past Present Future tour to promote his latest album, Go home.

He had originally planned to kick off the North American leg of the tour in Washington, D.C., on August 20, but shortly after added three more dates in Atlanta starting August 14. He had already included three Atlanta shows for October 17, 18 and 19.

It is not yet known whether Usher plans to continue his Friday (August 16) and Saturday (August 17) shows in Atlanta.

The Independent contacted Usher’s representatives for additional information.

He will then continue his tour in Europe and the UK, starting in London on April 1, 2025. So far, he has only announced three more European venues: Paris, France (April 15); Amsterdam, Netherlands (April 22); and Berlin, Germany (May 1).
