Ambitious RTS ZeroSpace unveils new MMO-inspired mode

Any new galactic RTS game that comes out will immediately be compared to StarCraft, but few can say that they are developed by some of its greatest players of all time. Well, Zero Space This upcoming strategy game has several former StarCraft pros on its development team, and at the Future Games Show it just unveiled a new trailer that includes a reveal of its persistent mode that gives it an MMO flavor.

Described as a “cinematic real-time strategy game” with a choice-based campaign, ZeroSpace aims to deliver solid single-player storytelling in a genre where that isn’t always easy to find. Packed with over three hours of cutscenes and dozens of missions, it certainly promises to be a captivating strategy experience.

But with Galactic Warfare, ZeroSpace is now offering something completely different. This title takes the gameplay mechanics of ZeroSpace and throws them into a persistent battle for control of a map made up of 50 individual planets. In true MMO style, you choose one of three alliances and try to claim territory. Encounters on the planets can be done solo or in co-op with friends, and each completed encounter earns points for your alliance. The alliance with the most points controls the planet.

The main objective is to capture the planet in the center of the map. Once you achieve this, this war will be over. On your way to the center of this system, you will collect bonuses for your alliance that will make you stronger in your battles.

ZeroSpace doesn’t have a release date yet, but backers will have access to a beta later this year. You can learn more about the game and how to support it on its Steam page here.

In addition to releasing his in-depth Galactic Warfare review, which you can watch above, an eye-catching new trailer outlining all of the game’s modes and content offerings can be found below.
