STC Announces Dean’s List for Summer Term 2024

Savannah Technical College has recognized 70 students for their academic excellence for the Summer 2024 Dean’s List. To be eligible for the Dean’s List, a student must have at least a 3.5 GPA and have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours (or full-time hours) for that semester. These students represent 30.4% of the full-time student body for Summer 2024.

Tanaja Felton is one of STC’s Dean’s List students for the summer of 2024 and the College’s first dual enrollment surgical technology student. She is a senior at South Effingham High School who attended the STEM Academy at Effingham County College & Career Academy and Savannah Technical College. This is her second year as a dual enrollment student at Savannah Tech. She enjoys the fast pace of the operating room and plans to continue her education after graduation to become a surgeon (general or cardiac).

Felton said she couldn’t have done it all alone.

“My parents guided me my whole life to follow the plans God had for me, which is why everything fell into place for me to accelerate my studies very early,” she said.

She is set to graduate from STC with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Surgical Technology in the summer of 2025, just months after graduating from high school. She was recently inducted into STC’s National Technical Honor Society chapter.
