Govt announces holidays for schools, colleges in Islamabad

Islamabad’s red zone has been closed by authorities in response to escalating political tensions in the capital.

In a statement posted on Twitter, the Interior Ministry announced that all government and private schools and colleges in Islamabad will remain closed today, August 22.

The decision, according to the deputy commissioner of Islamabad, was taken in light of the current volatile situation in the city.

“Student safety is our top priority,” the Interior Ministry said on Twitter, stressing that the closures are aimed at protecting students during this period of uncertainty.
