Using The Sphere’s innovative technology and visual prowess, V-U2 is the first film shot entirely on Big Sky, the venue’s ultra-high-resolution camera system. The film recreates the use of multiple cameras, the venue’s 160,000-square-foot viewing area, HOLOPLOT surround sound, and haptic seating that uses vibration to create an immersive effect comparable to that of U2’s original residency.

Tickets for V-U2 Tickets to the show at the Sphere start at $100 (all-inclusive) and go on sale Friday, August 23 at 10:00 a.m. PT via Ticketmaster. If you’re planning a trip to Las Vegas to see a show at the Sphere, you can save 10% on travel and accommodations through Booking.com.

In a statement, The Edge echoed his comments in the trailer, saying: “The goal was to give viewers an immersive experience that was as close as possible to the U2:UV live concert experience – and then some. I’ve never seen a U2 concert. I’m so relieved to have seen a great concert.”

Director Steinberg also said in a statement: “We knew all about the amazing capabilities of the technology, but we didn’t know what to expect from the process of making this film. The work became a true collaboration between the band, artists, producers and technology teams. The end result is a cinematic experience that transports viewers into the energy and beauty of live performance.” Check out the trailer for V-U2 below.

U2 opened their residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas in September 2023, played over 40 sold-out shows at the venue, and concluded their run in March 2024. They were followed by a brief residency from Phish and a series of concerts from Dead & Company. Next up to play at the Sphere are The Eagles, who are currently on their farewell tour. Their shows begin September 20; get tickets to see The Eagles at the Sphere here.

In the meantime, beyond live performances, The Sphere is continuing its run of film-centric offerings. Apparently, they have a new Sphere-ified adaptation of The Wizard of Oz currently in progress, which will cost them the modest sum of 80 million dollars.
