Tuthill Porsche, a renowned UK-based restoration and rally shop, is setting the tone in the restomod sector with their recent collaboration with Singer. They recently attracted attention at Monterey Car Week 2024 with the Porsche GT ONE. The restomod is inspired by the famous 911 GT1 race car from the 1990s that featured in the BPR Global GT Series. It later took the form of the road-legal 911 GT1 Straßenversion, limited to 21 examples for enthusiast buyers.

Known for its modifications to Porsche 911s, the company wanted to commemorate the special Straßenversion homologation with the version we see here. The performance car is fully optimized for road use, unlike the Straßenversion. According to Richard Tuthill, CEO of Tuthill Porsche, “We took the best elements, but focused on producing a wonderful road car. We took inspiration from everything we’ve done in the past and what others have done before us and continue to do.”

Designer: Tuthill Porsche and Florian Flatau

Just like the 911 GT1 Straßenversion, the GT One takes up the striking style of the 911 of the 993 generation. The company called on designer Florian Flatau for this stunning road-going racing car. The body of the car is made of carbon fiber, which brings the total weight down to 1,200 kg. The limited edition car will be equipped with a 4.0-liter flat-six engine under the hood, available in two configurations. One will be a naturally aspirated version with 493 hp and the other a forced induction version with 593 hp. The gearbox will also be offered with a choice of a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission or a manual gearbox.

The impressive specs don’t stop there, as the GT ONE features double wishbone suspension, bespoke calipers and carbon-ceramic brakes. For those who want to squeeze every ounce of power out of the engine, the car benefits from advanced aerodynamic tuning using CFD analysis. Tuthill is also considering an additional aerodynamic package for enthusiasts who want to test it on the motorway or racetrack.

According to Richard, it takes around 3,500 hours to complete this masterpiece, which is a testament to the effort that went into making it. Only 22 examples of the GT ONE will be made and pricing has yet to be announced. That said, the makers believe the car is a work of art and a machine to be enjoyed while driving.
