Veteran Tamil actor and stuntman Ponnambalam recently delivered an emotional speech at Chiranjeevi’s birthday party in Hyderabad, where he spoke about his long career in cinema and how much Chiru meant to him.

“I am very happy today to celebrate Chiranjeevi’s birthday here at this venue. I have come all the way from Chennai,” said Ponnambalam, who expressed his happiness at attending the event.

With over 1,500 films to his credit as a master of combat, Ponnambalam recalled a remarkable moment in his journey: “Once upon a time, when Gharana Mogudu was not doing well, I said I would leave.” He mentioned it just to underline the kind of stakes he was playing with back then.

Ponnambalam also revealed some details about his early years in the film industry: “In 1985-86, our daily wage was just Rs 350. But once, during the shooting of one of Chiranjeevi’s films, they paid each fighter Rs 1,000, which was a lot of money in those days.”

The stuntman-actor broke down when he told us about Chiranjeevi’s kindness towards him, especially during his illness. “Think of me as someone who is suffering from kidney failure from that time till now and Chiranjeevi garu has spent ₹60 lakh on my treatment,” Ponnambalam said, appreciating the support he is receiving.

In conclusion, Ponnambalam said, “All this is thanks to Chiranjeevi.” With these words, it was clear that the actor had deep respect for Mega Star.
