BIG MOJO (3:00 a.m. York, nap)

He made a big impression winning the Molecomb on his second outing. He fell out of the box but powered through to win by a large margin. His trainer thinks he is the new Big Evs and this race should go perfectly for him.

BRADSELL (3.35 York, NB)

He won the King Stand last year and has been back to his best form on his return to France. He ran well in this race last year when he was in the wrong group and his extra stamina is a big plus as it is likely to be run at a blistering gallop.

WAFEI (1.50 York, triple)

He has snuck in underweight and can do the job. He improved over 2,400 metres on his handicap debut at Goodwood and this event should suit him perfectly. With an extra 1.3kg he can double his score.

The Templegate verdicts

1.50

WAFEI sneaks in at a light weight and can do the job. He was improved over 2,400 metres on his handicap debut at Goodwood and this event should suit him perfectly.

With an extra 3lb he can double his total. Lieber Power is in great form and was only beaten at Windsor last time. He should be 4lbs heavier in the future and is very dangerous.

Mr Monaco looks like he deserves a place on this pitch after a win on a real pitch in the last encounter. He is another top player.

Shadow Dance lost his balance and struggled to hold on when eliminated at Ripon last time. A 2lb increase is manageable and he won’t be far away – especially as the Ripon journey suggests he can do even better.

Euchen Glen is a veteran fan favorite who will stay strong late in the race and could easily clinch a spot. There would be no greater cheer than his victory again.

Dark Moon Rising is far from reliable but he likes this track and is on a dangerous track. He will test well and stay better than most at the end.

2.25

ALSAKIB continued to look to win a 1m6f Group 2 here last time out.

The conditions were tough so a move to this distance seems the ideal solution. He has little to fault him for in terms of class and is very attractive.

Point Londsdale is a classy athlete, a tireless winner of a Group 3 at Chester two years ago. He ran well again last time out and has always been in form for this demanding course.

Vauban, a Group 1 hurdle winner, has run well in Group races this year, although he was below average last time out.

If he returns to his best, he has clear claims in a race beyond his perfect run.

Gregory had a career-best finish of third in the Goodwood Cup last time out. That form is on par with the best in this team and it is still relatively early days for him.

Night Sparkle has been in good form this year without winning. She needs to find more points to win on this team, but she is consistent and will not be far from being able to show her best level.

3.00

BIG MOJO made a big impression when winning the Molecomb on his second outing. He fell low in the stalls but powered away to win by a comfortable margin.

His coach thinks he is the new Big Evs and this race should go perfectly for him.

Andesite made a strong impression on his debut here. He suffered a setback before Royal Ascot but remains underexposed and can get back on track here.

Shadow Of Light won the same race at Newmarket as stablemate Noble Style before winning this one in 2022. He remains capable of doing better and attracts plenty of interest.

The Strikin Viking won here on his debut and has lost half a length in two Group 2s since. He sets the standard for form.

3.35

BRADSELL won the King Stand last year and was back to his best on his return to France.

He ran well in this race last year when running in the wrong group and his extra stamina is a big positive as it is likely to be run at a hot gallop.

Asfoora got the better of Big Evs at Royal Ascot but the latter turned the tables at Goodwood last time out.

There is unlikely to be much to separate the two teams once again, although Asfoora is slightly favoured with the weights in her favour this time unlike at Goodwood.

Believing was a bit unlucky not to catch the aforementioned pair at Goodwood after being forced to play bumper cars. She is another who would do well to give a burn-up on fast ground.

Live In The Dream won this race last year but has struggled more this year and is unlikely to repeat that feat in such a deep and fast-paced race.

4.10

REACH won this race last year with plenty of strength and has been in good form in her two starts this season.

She is clearly lined up for this and despite the team’s poor form, she can do it again.

Power Of Destiny was only eliminated by Al Anoud at Goodwood after an interrupted run. Both horses are not exposed and have a chance to take the lead, especially as there is only a 0.5kg weight for the former in this match.

Chorus finally got off the mark at Windsor last time. She is bred to be intelligent and can still improve in handicaps thanks to a potentially generous mark.

Battle Queen looked to need this run at Ascot and Newbury last time out. Should she improve, her current rating would not be a barrier to her success.

4.45

ANGELO BUONARROTI cost £2 million and showed great promise on his Coventry debut at Royal Ascot.

He’s almost guaranteed to improve through this series and given the esteem he’s held in, it would be disappointing if he didn’t win this one.

Whirl ran well in a good Curragh maiden on her debut under Aidan O’Brien. Her foals always improve with each race and she deserves a lot of respect as a result.

Ultrasoul has crossed a horse that was tipped for the Gimcrack earlier in the day. He should be up to the distance and Roger Varian’s horses are in good form.

At one price, Thanks Angel cost £120,000 and is bred to be smart.

5.20

NATIVE WARRIOR has come closer to the Royal Ascot and Goodwood handicaps since his maiden win.

He remains capable of better, will be suited to this tough test and could be difficult for Karl Burke to beat.

Midnight Gun was beaten over 1m2f for the same owners at Goodwood. A return to the mile would certainly suit him and he is another with very good claims.

Last time out Dosman had a superb game at Newmarket and the form is full of substance.

His first goal, in this context, seems generous and he will not be far away.

Mount Teide relished the mile when doing everything at Newmarket last time out. He won’t be easy to dominate here but he is respected.
