Family ‘shattered’ after woman’s body found in Cardiff home | UK | News

A Cardiff community has been plunged into mourning after a “much-loved mother” was tragically found dead in a home in the city earlier this week.

Emergency services, including South Wales Police, rushed to the scene in the early hours of Tuesday 20 August on Caerphilly Road. When officers arrived they discovered the body of a 45-year-old woman. The victim has been identified as Victoria (Vicki) Thomas, 45, whose life came to a sudden end at her home on Caerphilly Road.

Vicki’s family have expressed their grief and are struggling to come to terms with the harsh reality of her loss, Wales Online reports.

Their statement read: “As a family, we are devastated by the tragic loss of our beloved daughter, mother, sister, aunt, niece and friend. Our family is broken and she will be forever missed. Please respect our privacy and our wish to grieve at this devastating and difficult time.”

Chief Inspector Matt Powell offered his condolences to Vicki’s loved ones, saying: “Our thoughts are with Vicki’s family, who continue to be informed and supported by family liaison officers. As our investigative work continues at the scene, I would like to thank the local community for their support and understanding.”

Police have announced the arrest of Alcwyn Thomas, 44, accused of the murder which took place in the early hours of Tuesday 20 August on Caerphilly Road. Authorities have confirmed that Thomas, from the Heath area of ​​Cardiff, is due to appear at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Friday 23 August.

South Wales Police stressed that Vicki’s bereaved loved ones were receiving support from qualified specialists during this extremely difficult time.
