TWO beloved Coronation Street couples seem at risk after tonight’s tense episode.

Alina Pop (Ruxandra Porojnicu) returning to Weatherfield has reopened old wounds for Tyrone (Alan Halsall) and Fiz (Jennie McAlpine).

Now mother to a young son, Dorin, Alina confessed to former partner Tyrone that he is the boy’s father.

Tonight’s episode saw Tyrone grow even closer to his new found son.

He cared for Dorin while Alina prepared to attend a meeting ahead of giving evidence in a trial.

Fiz was secretly upset – and putting a brave face – worried that an old spark between Tyrone and Alina could reignite.

She confided in Evelyn, who found her crying: “It’s all the secrecy, all the skulking around, the phone calls.

“They have to meet in secrecy, you know, so that she’s not seen.

“I’m not being funny but if she was actually that much at risk, don’t you think the police would’ve put her in some kind of safe house?”

Evelyn reassures Fiz that Tyrone doesn’t want to lose her again.

Later, Alina was confronted by a thug who barged into her hotel room and threatened her against giving evidence.

Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) was nearby and intervened to scare the attacker off.

Shaken up by the experience, Alina asked Tyrone and Fiz to look after Dorin until the end of the trial.

Although Fiz doesn’t think this is a good idea, the spouses agree to do so.

Tensions also rose between Kirk (Andrew Whyment) and Beth (Lisa George) Sutherland after shocking revelations came to light.

Kirk reconnects Beth and his Craig (Colson Smith) after their falling out.

After a nudge from Craig, Beth confessed to Kirk about her counterfeit t-shirt scam.

This backfired – as Kirk realized it was why Beth lost her job at Underworld.

He also put together that the scheme could have cost his own job.

CORONATION STREET

Shelley/Peter/Lucy: Peter Barlow took the concept of a love triangle and ran with it in Coronation Street – extending it to bigamy.

He was in a relationship with Shelley Unwin but started dating Lucy Richards, and quickly married her after she fell pregnant with his son, Simon.

But it didn’t stop him also marrying Shelley, but he was eventually caught when Lucy turned up in Weatherfield and the two women confronted him.

Ken/Deidre/Mike: Back in 1982, Deirdre Barlow started sleeping with her husband’s nemesis Mike Baldwin in secret, before confessing all a year later.

When Mike turned up at the marital home, Deirdre was being throttled by her husband who then kicked her out, but years later they reconciled.

Maria/Aidan/Eva: In 2017, Aidan Connor started sleeping with girlfriend Eva Price’s best friend, Maria Connor.

Eva eventually found out and she decided to take revenge by faking a pregnancy, spending his money and planned to confront him on their wedding day.

But she had a change of heart when a remorseful Aidan confessed, and decided to marry him anyway, only for Maria to arrive and expose her fake pregnancy.

EMMERDALE

Ross/Debbie/Pete: Debbie Dingle found herself torn between two brothers, Ross and Pete Barton in 2015 in Emmerdale.

She eventually decided to marry Pete but yet again, a soap wedding day was ruined when the groom learned of his bride’s betrayal via a recording played at the wedding.

Chrissie/Robert/Aaron: Robert Sugden was married to Chrissie White and all seemed well – until he began a steamy affair with Aaron Dingle.

Robert’s ex Katie Sugden almost exposed the affair – but fell to her death before she had the chance.

However, a guilty Aaron eventually cracked and told Chrissie about the affair – after which she announced it to the whole pub.

Beth claimed her motivation was to raise money to fund a fancy wedding for them but Kirk was having none of it.

Angry at Beth having lied to him again, he stormed off.
