All Upcoming Switch Games with Release Dates

Emio – The Smiling Man (August 29, 2024)

Nintendo first dropped this creepy teaser without any indication of what they had in store. A week later, they announced Emio – The Smiling Man, the first new addition to the Famicom’s Detective Club visual novel series in over 30 years. This murder mystery game takes a darker tone than most recent Nintendo titles and arrives three years after the Switch remakes of the Famicom’s first two Detective Club games (The Mystery Heir and The Girl Who Stands Behind).

It’s a crossover adventure of extremely cute proportions!

The Brave Squire (September 17, 2024)

In our hands-on preview of The Plucky Squire, we said, “It’s rare to find something this unique.” You play as Jot, a fairytale hero, and must complete a mix of 2D and 3D challenges in some truly gorgeous environments. For any Switch gamer who enjoys platforming and puzzles, this indie game is not to be missed.

EA Sports FC 25 for Switch (September 20, 2024)

Answer to the big question: The latest addition to EA’s FC series (FIFA’s successor) features Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham on the cover. It also introduces 5v5 Rush mode, offering an option for shorter matches in online play. In our FC 24 Switch review, we noted that the game struggled on the handheld compared to other consoles, so hopefully we’ll see a better port for the classic football (excuse me, soccer) game this year.

Disney Epic Mickey: Revamped (September 24, 2024)

Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is a faithful remake of the original Wii title, made by Purple Lamp Studios. The plot remains the same: Mickey teams up with Oswald the Lucky Rabbit to restore the Wasteland to its former glory with the same tools he used to ruin Yen Sid’s creation in his workshop: paint and thinner. The game will run on Unreal Engine 5, which has improved the graphics and toned down the lighting to match the game’s dark environment.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom (September 26, 2024)

For the first time in the franchise’s history, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom features Zelda as the protagonist. The princess is tasked with saving Link and the other residents of Hyrule after strange rifts form throughout the kingdom and take them away. She will work with a fairy named Tri and use the Tri Rod to create echoes of objects found in her environment to overcome obstacles and solve puzzles. She will create echoes of enemies she fights and forcibly recruit them into her party. This will be the eighth Legend of Zelda game on Nintendo Switch since its launch.

Upcoming Switch games with unknown release dates

There are plenty of other Nintendo Switch games in development that don’t have a specific release date yet. Here are some other Switch games we know are on the way:

When will the Nintendo Switch 2 be released?

Over the past year, we’ve heard rumors about the Nintendo Switch 2 regarding its appearance, release date, and name. While the Switch 2 should have been released by now according to the console’s 7-year release rule, Nintendo has reportedly delayed its release to March 2025 in an effort to limit scalping and gather enough inventory to meet demand. There are also rumors that the Switch 2, if that’s its final name, will have the same hybrid functionality as the original, but with a larger screen.
