Seven-year-old girl allegedly raped in store incident

A horrific incident took place on Sunday when a seven-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 41-year-old man named Safiullah while she was buying milk at a local shop, police reported.

According to Deputy Public Prosecutor Deependra Nath Chowdhury, the crime took place in the shop where Safiullah, who belongs to another community, is known to the shopkeeper. Hearing his screams, people nearby rushed to the spot, apprehended the accused and handed him over to the police after beating him up.

Police Commissioner Sankalp Sharma confirmed that an FIR had been registered. Local BJP MLA Shalabh Mani Tripathi reached the spot, urging law enforcement agencies to take stern action against the culprit.
