Capital Region Water remains committed to transparency and progress in addressing issues related to the combined sewer system. We are not trying to hide the problem: During wet weather, the authority’s combined sewer system is overwhelmed and discharges an untreated mix of sanitary wastewater and stormwater through a series of outfalls into the Susquehanna River and Paxton Creek.
