Baltimore County man charged with attempted murder after drive-by shooting in Howard County

Aug. 25—A Baltimore County man was charged Friday with attempted murder after shooting at the occupants of another car on Interstate 95 in Howard County earlier this month.

Police responded to a report of a shooting on I-95 around 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 12, according to a news release from the Maryland State Police. The victims told officers they were shot during a “road rage” incident involving someone driving a white Volkswagen. No one was injured, but police found the victims’ car had been struck by a bullet on the passenger side, the release said.

The next day, Quwan Gordon, a 48-year-old man from Owings Mills, was arrested on firearms charges in connection with the incident as well as drug charges when police arrived at his Owings Mills home and found felony quantities of suspected MDMA and fentanyl. Gordon was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to prior convictions.

A subsequent investigation resulted in the 10 charges he faced Friday, including attempted murder and assault charges related to the highway shooting.

Gordon is now being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
