Maha Govt Announces Rs 5 Lakh Assistance to Each Family of 25 Nepal Bus Accident Victims

JALGAON, Aug 25: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Sunday announced that the state government would give Rs five lakhs each as relief to each heir of the 25 devotees who died in the Nepal bus accident.

He announced an assistance of Rs five lakh each to the heirs of the deceased during the Lakhpati Didi function held in the city in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

A group of 90 devotees from Varangaon, Talvel and Bhusawal talukas were on their way to Nepal on a pilgrimage when their bus fell into the Marsyangdi river in Nepal’s Tanhoon district, killing 27 people, including the driver of the bus from Gorakhpur, on Friday.

Union Minister of State Raksha Khadse informed that the central government has provided an assistance of Rs two lakhs each to the heirs of those who died in the accident.

Following this, the state government also announced assistance for them. (UNI)
