She was madly in love with an already married man, Amitabh Bachchan, and rumours of their alleged romance echoed in Hollywood. However, Amitabh and his wife, Jaya Bachchan, never had any discussions about this aspect of their personal life and instead focused on their professional and family life.

Jaya Bachchan and Rekha respect each other and share a cordial bond. We witnessed this at the Star Screen Awards 2015 and this unexpected moment left everyone shocked and amazed. It so happens that when Amitabh Bachchan was announced as the winner of the Best Actor category for his role in the film, PikuA heartwarming scene took place between Rekha and Jaya.

Rekha couldn’t keep calm when Amitabh Bachchan won an award

In the video that has been doing the rounds on the internet, Amitabh Bachchan is seen heading towards the stage to receive his award. Both Jaya Bachchan and Rekha stood up from their seats and greeted the award. They were smiling ear to ear and beaming with happiness. However, Rekha’s spontaneous reaction took everyone by surprise. She was sitting at a distance and ran towards Jaya, hugging her. The unexpected hug was a sight to behold, and it symbolised a gesture of reconciliation between the two actresses.

When Rekha openly expressed her feelings for Amitabh Bachchan

In 2004, in a candid interview with Simi Garewal, Rekha openly spoke about her feelings for Amitabh Bachchan. When the host asked her if she had ever been in love with the actor, she replied in the affirmative. She went on to describe her emotions passionately and stated that she had yet to meet a single man, woman or child who could not fall hopelessly and hopelessly in love with Amitabh. However, Rekha also put an end to years of rumours and clarified that despite her feelings, she and Amitabh had never had a personal relationship.

When Rekha saw Jaya Bachchan crying while watching her love scenes with Amitabh Bachchan

Once, in an interview with Stardust, Rekha recalled an incident where she saw Jaya crying while watching the love scenes between the former and Amitabh in the film, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar. Narrating the incident in its entirety, Rekha revealed that she was watching the Bachchan family across the screening room and noticed a stream of tears streaming down Jaya’s face during the screening of the film. After a week, her industry friends told Rekha that Amitabh would not work with her again. When she confronted Mr Bachchan about it, he did not say a word.
