The most expensive homes for sale in the Phoenix metro area during the first week of August span from Fountain Hills to Scottsdale to Paradise Valley.

$5,250,000

Philippe Lewis, president of Dallas-based Philippe Lewis Properties, paid cash for a 10,800-square-foot mansion in Fountain Hills. The four-bedroom, 6 1/2-bath home is located in the Firerock Country Club. It also features Turkish limestone, tropical bamboo, Japanese-style soaking tubs, a dog bath, an indoor pool room, a massage room, a steam room, a theater and outdoor fireplaces. Anthony and Dina Arena were the sellers. He is president of Nationwide Automotive Services of Florida. Karen DeGeorge of Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty made the listing.

Robert and Kathleen Cohen paid cash for an 8,273-square-foot home in Paradise Valley with five bedrooms and 5 1/2 bathrooms. The house features multiple fireplaces, a kitchen with a quartzite island, a casita and fire pits next to the pool. Dr. Geoffrey Vanderpal of Las Vegas sold it.

Nancy Pollak of Austin, Texas, paid cash for a home in Paradise Valley. The home was not listed for sale and no information about it was available. Five Star Resort Owner LLC was the seller.

Constantine and Barbriella Safis purchased a 6,155-square-foot Scottsdale home in an equestrian neighborhood. The four-bedroom, seven-bathroom home also features three fireplaces, a game room with a TV wall and wet bar, retractable glass doors, a 10-car garage, a putting green, a linear fire pit and a built-in grill. Nicole Poolman was the seller.

Dennis Smith of Westlake, Texas, purchased a 4,615-square-foot home in the Desert Mountain neighborhood north of Scottsdale. The home has six bedrooms, 5½ bathrooms, five air conditioners and a guest house. Richard and Susan Pallan were the sellers.
