UPSAHL releases new single “Tears on the Dancefloor”

Pop provocateur UPSAHL has released her new single and accompanying music video titled “Tears on the Dancefloor,” available now via Arista Records. The new single comes ahead of her 40+ date “Melt Me Down” international tour kicking off next month. Tickets are on sale now HERE.

“Tears on the Dancefloor” is the latest offering from UPSAHL’s new era, as they continue to showcase their sonically elevated sound. An instant earworm, the track nods to his love of Timbaland-era Nelly Furtado with sultry, husky vocal tones that effortlessly rock the rubber band into higher registers. UPSAHL captures the moment when you realize you’re finally done, free from heartbreak, and finally feel like yourself again. Buoyed by the success of Deadpool and Wolverine and the rebirth of Wesley Snipes’ iconic character, the track’s music video is an homage to the opening scene of the 1998 film Blade, taking place on a body-to-body dance floor with an all-consuming, high-energy sound.

UPSAHL explains: “Tears on the dancefloor” is about mystery, vulnerability and emotion all at once. It’s inspired by those nights out that sometimes end in tears – to be honest, it’s like free therapy. When we were making this song, we had been listening to a lot of Nelly Furtado, so the production was heavily inspired by Timbaland and the general vibe of the early 2000s. Those are my favorite types of songs, the ones that are secretly a little sad, but can still be played at the afterparty.”

Earlier this summer, UPSAHL released her sexy summer anthem “Summer so hot.” Meant to be blasted on a poolside speaker in warm weather, the track showcases her playful vocals, impressive breath work with dense lyrical verses, and an electro-infused bassline that keeps the beat going. The music video, which alternates between a poolside dance party and a sultry shoot in the cool confines of the house, perfectly encapsulates what a typical summer evening looks like in the throes of high temperatures. The song is currently playing on SiriusXM’s Hits 1 and has made a huge impact across the country.

The “Melt Me Down” tour will see UPSAHL playing the biggest venues of her career, for fans around the world. The 40+ city tour will kick off in San Diego and will make stops in Los Angeles, Phoenix (her hometown), Austin, Atlanta, Philadelphia, New York, Dublin, London, Amsterdam, Berlin and more before wrapping up in Paris. She recently completed her opening leg of Madison Beer’s “The Spinnin’ Tour” and a string of European concerts and festivals including FM4 Frequency 2024 in Austria and Smukfest 2024 in Denmark. FULL ITINERARY HERE.

UPSAHL’s enigmatic and endearing style has proven its invaluable value with her critically acclaimed debut album Lady Jesus, her EP Sagittarius and her most recent, 2023’s The PHX Tapes. Having previously opened for Tove Lo, Yungblud and Melanie Martinez, she’s an artist’s favourite and no stranger to the touring life. Her shows are electric, powerful and high-energy, perfectly showcasing the “high-octane pop chameleon” that she is. Her sets also showcase her musicianship – with her impressive guitar display and wide-ranging vocals (mentions of her recent openings for Madison Beer in Tampa Bay and Houston are overwhelmingly positive).
