A drunk Hobart woman was caught driving three times over the limit before 8am

A woman caught drink-driving more than three times the legal limit in Hobart’s central business district on Sunday morning will face court.

The 44-year-old man was arrested on Davey Street at around 7.50am and his blood alcohol level was 0.166.

Sergeant Andrew Sulman said the woman was arrested and later released on bail.

He said the three-hour traffic stop operation also caught a driver with a P plate driving with alcohol in his system and three drivers who returned positive results for illicit drugs.

“Driving with alcohol or drugs in your body increases the risk of being involved in a serious accident,” Sulman said.

“We will continue to proactively patrol our roads to ensure everyone is doing the right thing.”

“Road safety is a community responsibility.”
