Manchester United send message to Chelsea as they could now ‘agree sensational swap deal’ for Sancho

Man Utd intend to “negotiate hard” for Jadon Sancho before the transfer deadline amid rumours a swap deal with Chelsea could be in the works, according to reports.

Sancho was not included in the Red Devils’ squad for their fourth Premier League game of last season against Arsenal, with Erik ten Hag insisting his poor performances in training were the reason for his omission.

The England international took to social media to deny the allegations and claim he had been made a “scapegoat” for Man Utd’s poor form at the start of the season.

Sancho eventually deleted the message but refused to apologise to Ten Hag and the Manchester United The winger was forced to train away from the squad and has reportedly been banned from first-team facilities.

He was allowed to go on loan to Borussia Dortmund in the January transfer window, where he helped the Bundesliga side reach the Champions League final, before returning to Man Utd in the summer.

Ten Hag appears to have turned over a new leaf on his return with Sancho training with the rest of his team-mates, but the England winger has not been involved in Man Utd’s first two squads of the new Premier League campaign.

And now it looks likely he will leave before the transfer deadline, with Chelsea and Juventus showing an interest in the winger.

However, BBC Journalist Simon Stone insists Manchester United “have no intention of giving Sancho away” this summer and will “negotiate hard”.

Stone wrote about BBC Sport:”Manchester United intend to negotiate hard for Jadon Sancho this week.

“Juventus are interested in the England international and Chelsea have been mentioned as an alternative.

“But sources at United are adamant they have no intention of giving Sancho away.

“The ideal would be to sell the 24-year-old. The second option would be an obligation to buy at the end of a season-long loan, which would in itself entail a fee.

“I can already envisage that this agreement will be concluded by the deadline of 11 p.m. on Friday.”

A move to Chelsea could be an attractive proposition for Man Utd, with the Blues having a number of players they are looking to sell before the deadline.

And now Football Insider claims Red Devils and Chelsea ‘could do sensational swap deal’ for Sancho and his English teammate Raheem Sterling.

Sancho and Sterling have both been left out of their clubs’ opening two Premier League games, with Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca admitting last week that 15-20 players were training away from the first-team squad.

Football Insider added:

“Both wingers are highly paid earners at their respective clubs but are wanted by the other before the transfer window closes.

“Trades like this are rare in football, but both players are surplus to requirements in their current setups.

“A swap deal between the Premier League rivals is seen as a move that would solve many problems for both teams, but sources say it is very difficult to negotiate.”
