Two workers killed, one injured in ‘incident’ at Delta Air Lines maintenance plant in Atlanta

Two employees were killed and another injured in an “incident” at Delta Air Lines’ Atlanta Technical Operations Maintenance Center at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the airline said.

Delta did not provide further details about Tuesday morning’s incident, but the airline said it was “working with local authorities and conducting a full investigation to determine what happened.”

The incident had no impact on airport operations, airport officials said.

Delta added that it was “heartbroken” and “grateful for the quick action of first responders and medical teams on scene.”

Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens said, “I extend my deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased Delta employees. My thoughts are also with those who were injured and I hope they make a speedy and full recovery.”

Police, firefighters and airport crews are on the scene, the mayor said.
