‘Day One’ Air Date Set on Paramount+

Paramount+ announced Monday that A quiet place: first daythe third film of the A quiet place The horror franchise, which examines the day the world fell silent, is set to begin streaming exclusively on the service in the US and Canada on Tuesday, August 27.

Availability of the critically acclaimed Paramount title in other international markets will be announced at a later date. Directed by PigMichael Sarnoski, with Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o (Black Panther films) and Joseph Quinn (Gladiator II), it arrives on streaming after a theatrical release in late June that saw the film gross nearly $100 million worldwide, a franchise record.

With a worldwide gross of over $261 million to date, A quiet place: first day Samira (Nyong’o) returns home to New York City only to find her simple trip turned into a nightmare when mysterious creatures that hunt by sound attack. Accompanied by her cat, Frodo, and an unlikely ally, Eric (Quinn), Samira must embark on a perilous journey through the suddenly silent city, where the only rule is to stay silent to stay alive.

Djimon Hounsou (Gran Turismo) and Alex Wolff (Oppenheimer) also star in the Platinum Dunes/Sunday Night production. Sarnoski’s screenplay is based on his story and that of franchise architect John Krasinski, which was based on characters created by Bryan Woods and Scott Beck.

Michael Bay, Andrew Form, Brad Fuller and Krasinski produced the third installment, with Allyson Seeger and Vicki Dee Rock serving as executive producers.
