Fabrizio Romano reveals the firm transfer message Arsenal just sent to Jakub Kiwior

Arsenal have made a firm decision on what they will do with Jakub Kiwior this summer.

Questions have been swirling over Jakub Kiwior’s future at Arsenal for some time.

Kiwior was one of four Arsenal players tipped to leave in the summer transfer window.

Of that quartet, Eddie Nketiah is set to join Crystal Palace, while Reiss Nelson will remain at Arsenal, and Aaron Ramsdale’s future remains somewhat uncertain.

It is easy to see why Kiwior could now be considered surplus to requirements at the Emirates Stadium. The arrival of Riccardo Calafiori this summer will surely have pushed the Poland international further down the pecking order.

As if to underline this, Mikel Arteta did not include Kiwior in Arsenal’s squad for their Premier League opener against Wolves.

Arsenal’s stance on Jakub Kiwior transfer

However, while it is difficult to see where the 24-year-old fits into the manager’s plans now, the Gunners are not ready to part ways with the defender just yet.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, reporting on X: “Arsenal have informed Jakub Kiwior and his entourage that he is not for sale.

“Despite interest from Villarreal and Bologna for a loan, Arsenal want to keep Kiwior at the club.”

There is no room for interpretation here, it is clear that the Gunners have made their decision resolutely.

What keeping Jakub Kiwior means for Arsenal

The move means the north London club will certainly be well-stocked with defenders this season, with Kiwior competing with Calafiori, Jurrien Timber, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Takehiro Tomiyasu for game time at left-back.

In the meantime, he has virtually no chance of supplanting Gabriel Magalhaes or William Saliba at the heart of the rearguard.

Zinchenko has welcomed the competition, but Kiwior will have his work cut out for him if he is to secure regular game time this season.

The question of his future may well be reassessed when the January transfer window opens.
