New Rochelle Police Investigate Armed Robbery and Stabbing on Webster Avenue

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — New Rochelle police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred early Monday morning, Aug. 26, 2024, that left a 43-year-old man with a stab wound.

The incident came to light when the victim walked into Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital around 7:15 a.m. with a stab wound to his back. Officers responded to the hospital, where the victim recounted the incident. He told officers he was attacked by three men on Webster Avenue. The attackers punched him in the head, knocking him to the ground, and demanded his money. After handing over about $13, the victim noticed blood on his back but felt no pain at the time. The suspects, described as three black men wearing dark clothing, fled the scene in an unknown direction.

The victim, unaware of the severity of his injury, returned home and informed his wife of the incident. Upon examining his back, she realized that he had been stabbed, prompting them to rush to the hospital.

  • Allegheny County Police Investigate Deadly North Braddock Fire

    NORTH BRADDOCK, Pennsylvania — The Allegheny County Police Department’s homicide unit is investigating a fatal fire that occurred late last night in North Braddock.

    At approximately 11:22 p.m., County 9-1-1 received a report of a fire in the 900 block of North Avenue. Upon arrival, first responders discovered the body of an adult male inside the structure. The Allegheny County Police Homicide Unit, in conjunction with the Fire Marshal’s Office, began an investigation into the incident.

    Preliminary findings suggest the fire was accidental in nature. Further details and updates regarding the cause of the fire and the identity of the deceased will be provided by the Fire Marshal’s Office and the Medical Examiner.

    Authorities said the information provided is preliminary and subject to change as the investigation continues. Additional updates will be posted on social media as they become available.

  • Wall Township Police Arrest Employee Targeted for Invasion of Privacy, Harassment

    Wall Township, New Jersey — A Lakewood man employed at the Target store on State Highway 35 was arrested Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2024, on charges of invasion of privacy, obstruction of justice and harassment following an incident involving a female customer.

    According to the Wall Township Police Department, Patrolman Shane Roland investigated after store management reported that David I. Sutton, 20, was observed pointing his cell phone up a customer’s skirt. When law enforcement arrived, Sutton fled the scene but was apprehended after a brief foot chase.

    Sutton was arraigned and released on summons. The Wall Township Police Department encourages anyone who may have been a victim of a similar incident at the Target store to come forward.
