Texas cop catches live alligator on doorstep with bare hands, caught on body camera

A Texas police officer successfully removed a live alligator from a family’s front door this week using only his bare hands.

Fulshear Police Department Lt. Billy Henry responded to a call about a juvenile alligator occupying the doorway of a home.

In a video posted to Facebook by Fulshear police, the alligator is seen curled up on the welcome mat that reads “HOME SWEET HOME” in anything but a welcoming demeanor.

The video, captioned “You can take the boy out of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the boy,” has been viewed more than 120,000 times on Facebook.

Lt. Henry then reached down to subdue the reptile with his bare hands, first reaching under the alligator’s jaws as it struggled in his arms.

As the officer led the alligator away, a woman shouted, “Look, you’re a hero!”

One of the top comments on the post reads: “He deserves a RAISE!! My officers would have called for backup” with two crying laughing emojis.
