Woman who offered Oasis fans her garden to camp in to avoid hotel costs shares latest news after tickets went on sale

A woman who offered her garden to Oasis fans struggling to find hotel rooms for next year’s concerts has provided an update.

In case you haven’t heard, Oasis are reforming and touring next year.

Buying tickets has been a nightmare since they went on sale this morning, but there have been many other problems too, including booking hotels.

Many people have claimed to have suddenly discovered that their hotel bookings for weekends when Oasis were playing were no longer available due to a “computer error”, only to find that the cost had skyrocketed if they tried to rebook.

The Dalata Hotel Group, which operates the Maldron Hotels, told LADbible this was due to a “technical error” and promised to honour all bookings made before August 26.

Booking.com also weighed in and it was pretty clear that trying to find accommodation for Oasis visits was going to be a nightmare.

However, brave music heroes stepped in, offering alternatives to the legions of Oasis fans wondering where they would go next.

Among them was a woman who said she lived near Heaton Park, where Oasis play their Manchester gigs, and would let people stay in her garden on one condition.

“I live right next to Heaton Park,” Olivia Bridge posted on Twitter. “If you’re an Oasis fan and don’t want to shell out hundreds of pounds for somewhere to sleep, you can camp in my garden. For free.”

“The only condition is that you give me a ticket too. I’ll pay for it, and I’ll even include beers, breakfast, and a ride.”

“This is a really serious offer! My parents and friends are ready for Saturday at 9 o’clock, but I am ready to do anything to increase my chances.”

A ticket to a place to sleep seems like a fair trade, but Olivia was one of the lucky ones who was able to get a ticket for herself.

Thankfully, she didn’t forget about the needs of her fellow Oasis fans and posted an update letting them know she was fully committed and would still let some of them camp in her garden.

The garden is big enough for a few tents, so not all of the fans heading to Heaton Park will be able to stay there, but it’s nice that this community has been so much fun that there will be somewhere for a lucky few to stay.

She had previously said “no ticket, no entry”, but added that she “can’t let the internet and the hundreds of new fans I’ve met in the strangest 48 hours of my life down”.

Good luck to anyone still trying to get Oasis tickets, I’m currently at about 80,000th position in the queue and I’m pretty sure it won’t happen for me.

Ticketmaster also recently provided an update: “Tickets are still available, but supplies are now limited and not all ticket prices are available.”

Where will Oasis tickets be sold?

Fans will be able to purchase tickets from 9am on Saturday 31st August from VIEW TICKETS, Ticketmaster and GIGSANDTOURS. Hospitality packages will also be available through Single Seat.

Tickets will be limited to four per household per show. Children under 14 will not be admitted and children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
