Justin Tucker isn’t interested in revisiting the past.

The Baltimore Ravens kicker made headlines for his pregame routine during the 2024 AFC Championship when Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes both criticized Tucker’s equipment being in the area where Mahomes was warming up.

Tucker didn’t express his frustration at the time, and it appears his stance hasn’t changed ahead of the rematch against the Kansas City Chiefs to open the 2024 season.

Justin Tucker was asked if he would change his pregame routine against Kansas City because of the incident with Travis Kelce during the AFC Championship. Tucker didn’t try to follow that route.
He said his goal was to be ready to “contribute to a Ravens victory.” #RavensFlock pic.twitter.com/bw86Q3kIVo

The Chiefs won that game against Tucker’s Ravens, 17-10, and eventually beat the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII two weeks later. It was the second straight Super Bowl victory for Kelce, Mahomes, and the Chiefs and solidified the team’s claim to victory in the AFC.

Heading into this conference championship title, Baltimore thought they could pull it off. The Ravens were 12-5 in the regular season and had earned the top seed in the AFC. The team would defeat the Houston Texans in the divisional round, and this opportunity against the Chiefs seemed promising.

With that experience in the rearview mirror, Tucker hopes to remain an elite kicker and help Baltimore earn another No. 1 seed and advance to the Super Bowl for the first time since 2012.

The Ravens will face the Chiefs on Thursday at 8:20 p.m. ET.
