WASHINGTON, DC — A citywide search is underway for Tyrell Lamonte Bailey, 27, who is wanted for a weapons violation that left a police officer dead. The incident occurred on Wednesday, August 28, at approximately 5:40 p.m., when officers with the Robbery Suppression Unit observed a man, later identified as Bailey, exiting a suspicious vehicle in the 4500 block of Quarles Street, Northeast. When officers attempted to make contact, Bailey fled, heading southbound toward I-295 and jumping off a retaining wall.
