International Tennis Hall of Fame Announces Voting for Class of 2025

American doubles team Bob and Mike Bryan and five-time major singles champion Maria Sharapova are the newest additions to the International Tennis Hall of Fame ballot for the Class of 2025. The Bryans and Sharapova join returning Canadian Daniel Nestor as nominees in the Player category.

Together, the Bryans are the most accomplished men’s doubles team in history, winning 16 major titles and holding the world number one ranking for 438 weeks. The twins completed the Career Grand Slam in doubles at the 2012 London Olympics. Individually, Mike Bryan holds the most major doubles titles of any man in tennis history (18) as well as four major mixed doubles titles. Bob Bryan is also a seven-time major mixed doubles champion.

Sharapova is one of only 10 women in tennis history to have achieved a Grand Slam in singles. She became the first Russian woman to reach the world number one ranking in 2005. During her nearly 20-year WTA career, she returned to the top of the rankings four times, was ranked in the top five for 408 weeks and won 36 singles titles.

Nestor is the most accomplished Canadian tennis player in history. He has won 12 major titles, including eight in doubles and four in mixed doubles. He has achieved a Grand Slam in doubles and has led the ATP doubles rankings for over 100 weeks. He is the first singles or doubles player on the Tour to win all nine ATP Masters 1000 titles and the first player to win 1,000 career doubles matches.

Induction into the International Tennis Hall of Fame represents the ultimate honor in tennis, with the sum total of the inductee’s accomplishments and impact among the greatest in the history of the sport. With voting now complete, the official voting panel of tennis journalists, historians and Hall of Fame members will cast their ballots over the next month.

FANS’ VOTE RETURNS

ITHF fan voting is now open for the sixth consecutive year. Fans around the world are invited to cast their votes on who they believe deserves to be inducted into the Hall of Fame until Thursday, September 12 at vote.tennisfame.com.

To be elected to the Hall of Fame, nominees must receive a positive vote of at least 75% or more of the combined total of the official voting pool results and any bonus percentage points earned in the fan vote. The top three nominees in the fan vote will receive additional percentage points to their vote total from the official voting pool, with first place earning three percentage points, second place earning two percentage points, and third place earning one percentage point.

After the votes are tallied, the Class of 2025 will be announced in October, and the Hall of Fame induction celebration is scheduled for August 21-23, 2025, in Newport, Rhode Island.
