School bus fire: students are safe

A coach carrying schoolchildren from the Newtown and Kerry area to Bishops Castle has caught fire.

All passengers are understood to be safe after a Tanat Valley coach caught fire between Kerry and Sarn this morning. The students were taken to the nearby village hall car park.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue confirmed they were called to a fire and the Newtown team were on scene.

The A489 is open following the incident earlier this morning.
