“You Had Gatorade!” Amazon Driver’s Priceless Reaction to Houston Family’s Act of Kindness During Summer Heat

“You Had Gatorade!” Amazon Driver’s Priceless Reaction to Houston Family’s Act of Kindness During Summer Heat

HOUSTON – A small gesture can go a long way.

This is the message of this story that is sure to make you smile.

Houstonians know that summer heat is no joke. No one knows that better than the delivery people who hop in and out of trucks, up and down stairs, and carry your heavy packages to your door.

That’s why the Mueller family would like to extend a little “thank you” to postal workers and delivery people for their hard work this summer.

They set up a small mini-fridge outside their Meyerland home, stocked with Gatorade and reading: “Delivery and Mailing: Thank you for all you do. Please help yourself to a cold drink!”

“We put it there about a year ago,” Gage Mueller told KPRC 2’s Gage Goulding. “It was just in my garage, so I told my wife we’re going to put it on the porch with a sign and see what happens.”

This is the same house where an Amazon delivery man was filmed singing while dropping off packages.

On Sunday, an Amazon delivery person was out in the afternoon around 4 p.m. and was more than happy to see an ice cold drink.

Watch his reaction here:

“Oh, thank you, Gage,” the delivery man said in a recording captured by the doorbell camera. “This will be wonderful. I know it will be great.”

After dropping off the package, the delivery man searched the refrigerator for a full selection of water and Gatorade.

“You got some Gatorade. Bet on the cold, man!”

The driver was as happy as could be as he returned to the delivery van.

“We will have drivers who know we have what we need and if we are out they will come and say, ‘I don’t have a package, but can I get a Gatorade?’ The answer is ALWAYS yes,” Mueller said.

In a world where there’s a lot of bad news, this is a silver lining: Texans helping Texans.
