Affinity Plus Foundation Announces “Donate to End Hunger” Campaign for North Country Food Bank

BEMIDJI — The Affinity Plus Foundation is matching donations up to $10,000 through its “Donate to End Hunger” campaign through Sept. 14.

“September is Hunger Action Month, and the Affinity Plus Foundation is ready to help defeat hunger,” a statement said.

According to the release, Minnesota currently ranks seventh worst among states for food access for those in need.

During this 10-day campaign, the Foundation will work to raise funds for Minnesota food banks, including the North Country Food Bank.

North Country Food Bank is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and the largest hunger relief organization in northwest and west-central Minnesota. Each year, it distributes more than 6 million pounds of food, enough for 5.2 million meals, which feeds approximately 35,000 of our neighbors in need, the release said.

North Country Food Bank also partners with local organizations, including United Way of Bemidji Area and Clearwater County Food Shelf, to offer monthly mobile food deliveries, Nutrition for Seniors and BackPack programs.

“Food banks are a vital resource for families in need,” Adam Layne, Affinity Plus’s manager of community engagement and business development, said in the release. “We are proud to support them and encourage everyone to donate what they can during this important campaign.”

Donations will be accepted online at affinityplus.org/hunger or at any branch.

All donations made at Bemidji locations will benefit the North Country Food Bank. Affinity Plus Bemidji has locations at 2800 Hannah Ave. NW. and at Bemidji State University at Hobson Memorial Union, 1500 Birchmont Drive NE., Suite 45.
