Man accused of threatening bartender; man with injured scalp arrested: Brook Park police report

BROOK PARK, Ohio –

Threatening: The snowy road

A Brook Park man faces charges after threatening a bartender and bar patrons around 9:30 p.m. Aug. 26 at Solid Gold Lounge, 15005 Snow.

The day before, he had started a fight in the bar. When a Solid Gold employee saw the man return to the bar the next day, she ordered him to leave.

The man spat at the employee, but his spit did not land on her. As the employee escorted the man out of the bar, he threatened to shoot the employee and the bar patrons. He also threatened to beat them.

The Solid Gold employee called the police, but when the officers arrived, the man had disappeared. They are looking for him.

Disorderly Conduct: Boulevard Agnès

An intoxicated Brook Park man was arrested around 4 a.m. on Aug. 25 after causing a disturbance inside a home on Agnes.

When police arrived, they found the man had an open wound on his scalp. He explained that he had been injured in a previous incident.

The man smelled of alcohol. His eyes were bloodshot and glassy and he had difficulty speaking.

Paramedics told the man he needed to go to hospital for stitches. He agreed but first went to the house on Agnes Street to collect his belongings.

The man did not leave the house. Police entered and the man told them he would not leave with the paramedics after all. He left the house, walking east on Agnes and away from the ambulance.

Police handcuffed the man and placed him in the squad car. He was taken to Southwest General Health Center in Middleburg Heights.

Driving under the influence of alcohol: Brookpark Road and Henry Ford Boulevard

An intoxicated Brook Park man was arrested around 3 p.m. on Aug. 22 after crashing his vehicle into another vehicle at Brookpark and Henry Ford.

No further information on this incident was available.

Bicycle-car crash: West 130th Street and Corporate Drive

A Cleveland man called police around 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 20 and said a motor vehicle struck him while he was riding his bicycle at West 130th and Corporate.

The man told police the incident happened around 7 a.m. The vehicle, a Toyota Camry, struck him and his bicycle as he was crossing the traffic light at West 130th and Corporate.

The man was unsure whether the light was red or green. However, when he saw the vehicle stop at the intersection, he began to cross. The vehicle was traveling southbound on West 130th Street.

The driver of the vehicle stopped and asked the man if he needed paramedics or the police. The man told the driver that he did not think he was injured, adding that he just wanted to go to work.

The man set off on his bike. After a few hours, his hip started to hurt and he decided to report the incident.

The man went to the medical center of the University Hospitals of Parma for treatment.

Driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, endangering children: Brookpark Road and West 137th Street

A 31-year-old Cleveland woman was arrested around 3 a.m. on Aug. 26 for driving while intoxicated at Brookpark and West 137th.

Police stopped the woman’s Jeep Compass on Brookpark at West 137th because she was going 50 mph on a 35 mph street.

The woman’s two children, ages 6 and 1, were in the back seat of the car. One of them was not properly restrained, as required by law.

The woman denied drinking, but her eyes were bloodshot and glassy and she smelled of alcohol. She failed field sobriety tests.

Shoplifting: Smith Road

A 62-year-old Middleburg Heights woman was cited after she was caught stealing merchandise from Marc’s Deeper discount store, 5725 Smith.

At the Marc’s store, the woman stuffed several items into her purse, including eye drops and deodorant. She covered the merchandise with her sweatshirt and left the store without paying.

Store security guard Marc saw what was happening and apprehended the woman outside the store.

Driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol: Smith & Holland Roads

A 73-year-old Hudson man was arrested around 11:30 a.m. Aug. 23 for impaired driving at Smith and Holland.

Police saw the man driving a BMW southbound on Smith. The car swerved and nearly hit two cyclists, so police arrested the man.

The man admitted to consuming an alcoholic beverage. He failed field sobriety tests.

Motor vehicle theft: Brookpark Road

A 2018 Chevrolet Camaro was stolen around 2 a.m. on Aug. 26 from Metro Lexus, 13600 Brookpark.

The robbery was caught on security camera. A suspect broke a car window to gain entry.
