HPD says arrest made in West Oahu attempted homicide incident

MAKAHA (HawaiiNewsNow) – Honolulu Police said an arrest was made in connection with an early-morning attempted murder incident in Leeward Oahu.

An HPD spokesperson said the suspect was arrested Friday evening, but did not immediately provide further details.

Around 2 am Friday morning, HPD says a 41-year-old man suffered multiple gun shot wounds near the north end of Maili Beach Park.

EMS says the victim was hit in his midsection and rushed to the hospital in serious condition.

Just hours prior to the Maili shooting, Thursday evening, officers arrested Shawn Judd, 46, for attempted murder, assault and operating a vehicle under the influence.

HPD has only described the situation as a “traffic incident” and listed two victims, a 44-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman.
