Toth brothers score 5 TDs for Metuchen football in scoreless win over South River

Ryan Toth threw three touchdown passes and Evan Toth ran for two touchdowns for Metuchen to help beat South River, 42-0, in Metuchen.

Metuchen (2-0) scored all 42 points in the first half.

Cam Hayes-Durina caught a 52-yard pass from Ryan Toth to open the first quarter and lead 7-0. Evan Toth then ran for his first touchdown of the game on a 12-yard run to make it 14-0. Ryan Toth finished the first quarter and threw a 10-yard pass to Justus Leitner in the end zone to make it 21-0.

In the second quarter, Matt Jelleme ran the ball 47 yards to make it 28-0. Evan Toth followed that score with his second of the game from 19 yards out. Dennis Toth caught a pass from Ryan Toth for a 22-yard touchdown to make it 42-0.

Ryan Toth threw for 138 yards on 10 completions in the game. Evan Toth led Metuchen rushers with 77 yards on six carries. Hayes-Durina led Metuchen receivers with four receptions and 82 yards.

South River falls to 0-2.
