Every sports fan would love to have the opportunity to meet their heroes.

It’s no different for these players either, including Cleveland Browns backup quarterback Jameis Winston.

During an appearance on the “BIGPLAY Cleveland Show”Winston admitted he really wants to meet NBA legend LeBron James and is willing to use a new teammate to make it happen.

“I’m asking Myles Garrett to give me every chance I can get…” Winston said. “LeBron… please, let’s join together, even if it has to be with Myles, it doesn’t matter.”

James has been playing for the Los Angeles Lakers since 2018, but he hails from Akron, Ohio, and played for the Cleveland Cavaliers for two stints during his illustrious career.

As the podcast hosts mentioned, James is a huge Browns fan.

Winston was the first overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and played for the organization until 2019.

He then became a member of the New Orleans Saints in 2020 and started 10 games for the organization over four seasons.

This offseason, the Browns let backup quarterback Joe Flacco leave town and signed Winston in his place.

Winston’s last season as a full-time starter came in 2019, when he played in 16 games for Tampa Bay and threw for 5,109 yards, 33 touchdowns and 30 interceptions.

The interceptions were by far the highest total of Winston’s career.

Last season, Winston did not start any games for the Saints, but did appear in seven games.

Although he rarely plays, Winston created a bit of controversy in the last game against the Carolina Panthers when he overrode head coach Dennis Allen and handed the ball off to running back Jamaal Williams for a touchdown in the final seconds while already leading.
