Caught in ‘outrageous’ traffic stop in Capitola – Santa Cruz Sentinel

It is perpetrated against careful drivers by a hidden message “No right turns at 10 o’clock, etc.”, on Clares Street in Capitola from 41st Avenue westbound:

There is a sign indicating the restriction on a telephone pole to the right, far from where a careful driver would look before turning, neither at eye level nor in front of the driver, where the automatic camera takes a picture of the driver and the license plate.

It cost us $230 in an outrageous trap for those who are otherwise making a perfectly legal and safe right turn. We know that many others have suffered this indignity and have neither the time nor the energy to fight it.
