Aaron Rodgers Takes Inspiration From Tom Cruise in ‘Top Gun’ in NFL Pregame Outfit

Aaron Rodgers Takes Inspiration From Tom Cruise in ‘Top Gun’ in NFL Pregame Outfit

Several fashion statements were made Monday night for the game between the San Francisco 49ers and the New York Jets.

First, 49ers star receiver Deebo Samuel entered wearing blinged-out leather farmer’s overalls that were a sight to behold.

Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers then arrived looking like he was straight out of a “Top Gun” movie, which is fitting for the name of the team he plays for. The 40-year-old quarterback could have replaced Tom Cruise with his bomber jacket and dark sunglasses.

Rodgers is in his 20th NFL season. Maybe his look is more “Top Gun: Maverick.” The quarterback doesn’t really have an official nickname. Maybe he should just call himself “Maverick” from now on?

Rodgers unfortunately failed to win his first game back from his gruesome Achilles injury, as the Jets lost to the 49ers, 32-19. It’s been a long season, though, and Maverick has never given up in the face of adversity – expect the same from Rodgers who has done so his entire career.
