ALERT: Met Éireann’s Irish weather forecast for the coming week is in…

Monday will start dry with sunny spells. It will cloud over from the west through the afternoon with patchy rain and drizzle developing in the west and north.

Highest temperatures of 14 to 19 degrees with light to moderate westerly winds freshening later.

Overview: Cool and breezy with sunny spells and showers. A bit milder again next weekend but still unsettled.

It will become breezy on Monday night with rain turning persistent in the west and north, and then moving southeastwards later in the night.

Lowest temperatures of 8 to 12 degrees in fresh westerly winds.

On Tuesday, outbreaks of rain in southern parts will clear during the morning with sunshine and showers following from the north.

Some of the showers will become heavy and prolonged over the north and northwest in the afternoon while it becomes drier further south. Maximum temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees in fresh and gusty west to northwest winds.

Cool on Tuesday night with clear spells and a few showers, the showers will be mainly confined to Atlantic coastal counties. Lowest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees in moderate west to northwest winds.

Cool and breezy on Wednesday with sunny spells and scattered showers, some of the showers heavy with hail and thunder possible.

The showers will be most frequent in northern areas. Maximum temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees in fresh northwest winds.

Many areas will be dry on Wednesday night with clear skies. However, there will be a few showers in the north and northwest. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 7 degrees in light to moderate northwest winds.

Thursday will bring sunny spells and scattered showers. However the showers will become isolated by afternoon. Highs of 11 to 14 degrees in light to moderate northwest winds and turning cold overnight.

Currently the further outlook is for unsettled weather with temperatures recovering a bit.
