Punjab Police Says Killings Were Result of Personal Enmity; 7 Arrested

Ferozepur (Punjab) (India), September 10 (ANI): Punjab Police, with the help of Mumbai Police, have arrested six shooters from Aurangabad in Maharashtra and solved the sensational Ferozepur triple murder case.

The accused have been identified as Daljeet Singh, Ravinder Singh alias Ravi (having eight criminal cases pending), Ravjeer Singh, Sukhchain Singh, Akshay (having one criminal case pending), Prince and Gurpreet Singh (both having five criminal cases pending), Ferozepur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) said.

Speaking to ANI, Somya Mishra, SSP, Ferozepur said, “On September 3 in Kamboj Nagar area of ​​Ferozepur, six unknown assailants opened fire on a man, Dildeep, while he was travelling in a car. In that car, four others – his sister, cousin and two friends – were present. Three people – Dildeep, his sister and one of his friends – died in the firing while the other two were critically injured and are still undergoing treatment.” “After this, on the orders of DGP Punjab Police, our various teams of Counter Intelligence, AGTF and Ferozepur police swung into action with human resources, technical input and CCTV footage. After this, all the teams with different sources and coordinated efforts identified the assailants,” SSP Ferozepur said.

Punjab Police, Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) ​​and Counter Intelligence Team, with the help of Mumbai Police, have arrested seven accused involved in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar in Aurangabad, the senior police official said.

According to police, the two parties involved in the Ferozepur triple murder case had been rivals for some time.

“Initially, we arrested a person who was doing reconnaissance for other accused, he was arrested on September 6. He was identified as Daljeet Singh, a resident of Ferozepur. Our AGTF, with the help of Mumbai Police and central agencies, arrested them from Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad) and later arrested all the attackers from Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. A total of seven arrests have been made in this case,” the senior Mumbai Police official said. “We are grateful to the Mumbai Police for responding promptly to the inputs of Punjab Police and the AGTF team and supporting us. There was a rivalry between them for some time. The victim in this case also has a criminal background in murder cases of 2013 and 2019. There was enmity between them for some time and in fact, there was a fight between them in May of which the case is registered, so, they (the arrested accused) committed this crime of murder on the basis of this enmity,” a senior police official said.

The Ferozepur triple murder case involves a brutal attack that took place on the afternoon of September 3. According to the police, the accused fired around 36 bullets at their targets as the victims’ car approached the Gurdwara Sri Akalgarh Sahib in the city. The attack resulted in the death of Jaspreet Kaur (22) on the spot, while her cousin Dildeep Singh (32) and an acquaintance Akashdeep Singh later died in hospital. Jaspreet’s brother Anmol Singh and another person were injured and are currently in critical condition. Jaspreet Kaur was scheduled to get married soon.
