Two months ago, news broke that Hovde’s bank was filled with millions of dollars in foreign deposits… Hovde still won’t say which countries they came from.

MADISON, Wisconsin — Two months ago, the news broke that Eric HovdeThe $3.2 billion California bank accepts deposits from foreign banks and governments. Yet Hovde still refuses to be honest with Wisconsinites about which foreign countries own those deposits.

Hovde declined to reveal which foreign governments were depositing money in his bank. Hovde recently confirmed that his bank accepts foreign deposits, but has yet to answer the question of where those deposits come from, because he believes no one should care if his bank receives money from foreign governments.

“If Eric Hovde thinks no one cares about the foreign deposits filling his bank, he should have no problem telling Wisconsinites what country they come from. But Eric Hovde continues to hide and refuse to tell the truth about those deposits and the conflict of interest they would create if he were in the United States Senate,” said the Wisconsin Democratic Party’s rapid response director Arik Wolk.
