Baby killed in suspected murder-suicide in northeast Columbus

Columbus police responded to the 2900 block of East 12th Avenue around 11:14 p.m. for a report of a shooting. Police told 10tv that a man shot his girlfriend and their baby before turning the gun on himself.

This is the second suspected murder-suicide in two days. On Monday night, Kristian Hives, 31, and Nicole Pannell, 41, were found dead after Pannell’s son called 911, saying he heard an argument and gunshots.

Police said Hives shot Pannell and then himself at Pannell’s home in the 5900 block of Pine Rise Court in northeast Columbus.
